Tower Defense 2 Gameplay
Tower Defense 2 is the sequel to Tower Defense. It was released as a Beta Gamemode on February 12th, 2023 during Season 4 but the Beta tag was soon removed. You can play on either Hosting or Solo, however it used to have Homework mode. It has 5 maps to play on, unlike the original Tower Defense, with remade versions of Sunny Meadow, Lost Desert, Abandoned Mine (easy difficulty), and 2 new maps called "Fractured Factory" (hard difficulty) and "Crossroads" (medium difficulty). The Crossroads map was not available on release. Similar to Monster Brawl, there are different difficulties, ranging from easy to nightmare, nightmare being the hardest, and some weapons in here are from Monster Brawl too. Each difficulty has its own twists and turns, notably nightmare. This game mode also re-designed the upgrade system from Tower Defense. "Fractured Factory", the new map, features two paths for the player to defend rather than one, which the current path changing every turn. The coins earned per wave, as well as the cost to buy towers, have also been drastically increased. Some towers have also been reworked. A notable example is the King, who is now turned into a support tower, buffing nearby towers by decreasing reload time (The pause between for each attack is lowered). Rather than changing appearance on the final upgrade tier, towers first change appearance after being upgraded 2 times, and they change again at 4 upgrades. Every upgrade is accompanied with an appearance change for the tower's pedestal.
On August 21st, 2025, the gamemode recieved a tiny redesign, where confetti shows up when you answer a question correctly, and it was made hack proof. This also happened with its prequel.
The 4 levels of game modes.

Difficulties[]
Below are each of the difficulties in Tower Defense 2 and what they do respectively:
Easy Logo
Easy[]
This is the easiest difficulty. You have access to all the towers from the start, and enemies are slow and weak. The final round is normally wave 30, but you can continue past wave 30 by selecting the option to do so. There are no Ghost Blooks in this difficulty.
Normal Logo
Normal[]
This difficulty is not too easy, but not too hard. The enemies (In order of appearance) are different, some being stronger. Ghost Blooks begin to appear in Round 12. Otherwise, it's very similar to the Easy difficulty.
Hard Logo
Hard[]
Here, the game starts to get a bit intense. You still have access to all the Towers like the previous modes, but the enemies are now stronger, and they spawn more often. On wave 5-8, where the Green would spawn in the Easy and Normal difficulties, a Pink would spawn instead. Arguably, the hardest rounds are 21-24, as you are swarmed with dozens of Rainbows. A good mix of splash damage and single-target towers are highly recommended.
Nightmare Logo
Nightmare[]
Nightmare is the hardest difficulty the game has to offer, requiring a great amount of luck and knowledge to beat. At the beginning, you only have access to the Toucan, Queen, and the King, all of which are support Towers. Every 5-10 waves, you can select from a variety of 3 random towers to put in your side bar, so that it can be placed. The selection is random; as a result, you may end up getting a strong tower or a weak tower. The ghost enemies in this mode are also extremely hard to deal with, requiring a tower that must have both sufficient DPS and ghost detection. The Alien and Goldfish are the top picks for this mode, but only if there is multiple of them for you to use, and plus it is still rare to get.

Towers[]
Towers are Blooks that can be bought and placed in spaces with no track or object already occupying that space. As of now there are 18 Towers available, each tower has a price and 4 upgrades. All upgrades give a boost in one or more of the four stats: Damage (or Slow/Gold Discount/Coins Per Wave for the Penguin, Queen, and Toucan respectively), Reload (or Reload Buff for the King), Range and Gold Discount (or Discount buff and Range Buff for the Queen), and Max Targets. The first tier of upgrades gives the tower a wooden base. The next tier of upgrades gives the tower a stone base, as well as granting a small appearance change to the tower itself. The third tier of upgrades gives the tower a golden base. The final upgrade gives the tower a blue diamond base as well as another appearance change.
There are thirty-six towers that you can buy, with prices ranging from thirty to one hundred tokens; with the Chick, Squirrel, Queen, Toucan, and Gorilla Blooks at 30, the Dragon, Pig, Penguin, Owl, Peacock, Bird Nest, Goldfish, King, and Moose Blooks at 50, the Wizard and Unicorn Blooks at 70, and lastly the Mega Bot and Alien Blooks at 100. Statistically, the Owl Tower is the Best Tower for Damage and Range. A major addition to Tower Defense 2 is that all Towers have a label telling you whether the Blook can attack ghost Blooks. These ghost-detecting Blooks will be useful for later levels ridden with ghost Blooks. If a unit does not already have ghost detection, the only way to grant them detection is to place them in range of a fully-upgraded Queen. They're were 9 towers added that were not in Tower Defense are the Gorilla, Peacock, Bird Nest, Moose, Wizard, Mega Bot, Alien, Queen and Toucan.
One might notice that there are three support towers instead of the singular Jester in the original Tower Defense. The King grants decreased attack cooldown to nearby towers, the Queen grants increased range, lowered gold cost, and ghost detection to nearby towers if it is fully upgraded, and the Toucan grants more gold after each round. Note that support towers have different stats/functions than regular towers, and thus often do not stack well (While a Queen can increase another Queen's range, a King cannot make a Toucan grant gold more frequently, etc.)

Strategies[]
- Make sure to farm hard using Toucans to increase the money gained from playing. This will help you generate lots of money early on to use on more Toucans and defenses.
- Don't be afraid to sell your Toucans nearer the end as the board has a limited number of spaces. It's better to lose some of your income gain than to lose the game and have to restart over.
- Remember to also use a few Penguins at places when the enemies are moving a bit too fast for your liking. You can use Penguins to cover the whole path that enemy will walk over.
- Instead of buying more Toucans, it is better to upgrade them to max before buying a new one.
- If you are not playing in easy mode make sure that most of your towers have Ghost detection. The easiest way is through getting lots of Aliens as Aliens are high damage with ghost detection, or just use the Queen to detect them.
- Make sure to put towers with a high Max Targets limit on pathways such as straight lines where they can hit more enemies at once.
- In Easy and Normal maps, it is possible to survive until wave 30 with a max level Owl and a max level Unicorn.
Trivia[]
- The actions that most of the towers do appears in Monster Brawl.
- Mega Bot using boomerangs may be a reference to Quick Man From Mega Man 2, considering they have similar appearances.
- Tower Defense 2 is the fourth gamemode to use AI in its gameplay, the first being Battle Royale, the second being Tower Defense, the third being Monster Brawl, and the fifth being Zorblitz.
- It uses AI for the towers, as when enemies walk in the path, they try to shoot them down.
- If you played this before, Ben made it so you needed to have Blooket Plus, however you could play Solo for free before March 6th, 2023.
- This is the first sequel to a game mode, that being Tower Defense.
- Because of this, Tower Defense 2 is the first gamemode to have a prequel.
- This is the only game mode with a number in the name.
- Dino Egg is in this game too, except it is not Dino Egg it is actually a Bird Egg, where inside the eggs are either Parrot, Macaw, Cockatoo or Snowy Owl. They shoot feathers just like Monster Brawl.
- The Crossroads map is based on the iconic Roblox map bearing the same name. It could also be based on the Crossroads map from the Roblox game Tower Defense Simulator.
- Currently Tower Defense 2, Cafe and Tower Defense are the only Solo Gamemodes without Homework.
- The only Legendary Blooks in this game are Mega Bot, King, and Ghost.
- The Ghost Blook doesn't show up as a tower, but rather a enemy.
- This gamemode lacks the random events in hosting mode that were in Tower Defense.
- The Elf Blook was the only Blook that was in the first Tower Defense but isn't in Tower Defense 2.
- The Penguin Blook is in the first Tower Defense and Tower Defense 2, however the appearance changed from the Baby Penguin to the Penguin Blook.
- There are 5 bird Blooks in the game, which are the Owl, Peacock, Bird Nest (Dino Egg), Penguin, and Toucan.
- This game has the most “variety”, with 5 maps. It’s also has the most difficulties with 4 difficulties.
- This game is based off of the Bloons Franchise, more specifically, Bloons TD 6 and Bloons TD 4.
