MANUAL OF STYLE

This is the official Manual of Style for the Blooket Wiki, made exclusively to teach editors how to correctly format and edit a page. This page does not include how to code Javascript, or any other coding languages. This is made solely for the purpose of how to format a page. There can also be exceptions to the Manual of Style, however this needs to be approved by a Content Moderator or a rank higher than that before continuation.

The Manual of Style was last revised on 14 February 2026. It is subject to change at anytime.

Language

The preferred language for the wiki is American English. This also applies to spelling words, such as organization, not organisation, defense, not defence, favorite, not favourite, and etc. Vocabulary differences such as doughnut and donut, or autumn and fall can be excused. For more examples, see this guide on Wikipedia.

Grammar and Formatting

Grammar and Formatting here is a big problem at this wiki, as editors tend to do things unorganized like put unconfirmed information and useless information. If there is a video on YouTube or any other site that proves something, like the rarities of something happening or a gamemode’s former mechanic, it is generally okay to put it in the trivia of the respective page and credit the video, like saying “According to this video, this blah blah blah” and you would put the link to the video on the “this video” part.

Formatting is also a big problem as people would talk in first person (I, me, my, we, us), and even in second person (You, your, yours), however almost every page needs to be formatted in third person (except this one of course.) meaning you should also not refer to the wiki as well, like saying “however we use Shamrock Quest to differentiate between the gamemodes”, no, instead, you would say “however people refer to it as Shamrock Quest to differentiate between the gamemodes”. ONLY IF people ACTUALLY do that and they refer to it as Shamrock Quest. This also applies when you’re adding a gameplay section to a gamemode page for example, do NOT say: “You can do this to get that.”, you want to avoid addressing the reader, and instead address the player, so what you can say is: “The player can do this to get that.”. It’s more fitting, as not everyone that checks out the Blooket Wiki plays Blooket or may not play it much. The only time that is acceptable is when you’re listing steps on how to do something, as this tells the reader what to do, unlike when you’re describing a gameplay, when you’re saying what happens.

Another big problem also happens. Take the Watermelon blook for example. When creating or editing the page, do NOT add trivia or other facts of actual watermelons. A page is supposed to document only the blook, not its actual fruit. Same thing applies to something else like the Blooket page, you would not add a trivia that says “Blacket is a reskin of Blooket.” as that’s not really apart of Blooket.

Citations

Where the Cite button is.

Citations in the wiki are extremely important. To cite, you can simply just stop mid text and click cite, then add a link or where you got it from. Most people confuse citations with bookmarks that say “not confirmed” or something like that, however that is not what it is. If you have background knowledge or someone told you, then it is excused. However, if you are not citing something when you got it directly from a source, like the New York Times, then it is called plagiarism and can result in serious consequences. Citations usually look like this,[1] and is also displayed in the References section at the bottom of the page, along with other citations. It is also recommended to use information from the Blooket help website, as it is owned by the official Blooket LLC.

Templates

How to access the source editor.

How to access the source editor.

NOTICE: The templates on the blooket wiki are currently retired, and are not being used. This guide will stay in case they come back, but that is not the plan.

The Blooket Wiki has multiple different templates for style (a full list can be found in Blooket Wiki Templates). Templates help make formatting pages easier, and are usually found at the top of a page. To make one, you simply go to the source editor and use 2 bracket symbols, like {{, to do it.

There are also special templates, like infoboxes. This is an example on how it should look: {{Template:Entities/doc}} not {{Entities/doc}} If there is multiple templates on one page, you MUST separate them by leaving a line in between. Example:

{{RareBlooks}}

{{MedievalBlooks}}

However if you want to use visual editor, you press the insert button, an click 'Template' and then type a template based on the wiki.

Copyright

The Blooket Wiki obviously has a bunch of assets ripped from the game files and plastered onto the wiki. This is a problem, because if you got a sprite sheet or an asset from the game files, you are LEGALLY REQUIRED to credit Blooket LLC. For example, if you have a gallery with at least 1 asset from the game files, you need to put a message below the name of ‘Gallery’ which is “All assets shown are property of Blooket LLC. They are used here for informational and illustrative purposes under fair use only.” or something similar to that. If it is only from gameplay, it is generally fine to just not credit Blooket LLC.

However, what you CAN’T do is:

  • ❌ Claim the assets as yours or someone else’s
  • ❌ Add no context, just raw files
  • ❌ Use commercially, meaning being used to profit off it.

What you CAN do is:

  • ✅ Use for illustrational and documentation purposes
  • ✅ Clearly label it as a file from Blooket LLC
  • ✅ Credit Blooket LLC for creation of the file

If it is just a plain screenshot from gameplay, it is generally fine and legally require no credit.
