The April Fool Updates are small and brief updates that are implemented into Blooket during April Fool's Day (With the exception of 2024 and 2025). But aside from appearance, these updates usually donโt interfere with Blooket gameplay. They get back to normal on April 2nd. There was no April Fool's Update for 2025, but another update did happen.
April 1st, 2021 update[]
On April 1st of 2021, the following changes were made to Blooket:
- The News Feed said everything is fine. However, the characters were reversed.
- Blooks in the blook list were upside down.
- Blooks in Factory were upside down.
- Blooks in Tower of Doom were upside down.
- Blooks in the Market were upside down.
However, strangely, the Blooks in Tower Defense were not altered in any way at all unlike the other Gamemode changes. This is likely because they don't have an orient that is automatically assigned.
April 1st, 2022 update[]
The April 1st, 2022 update isnโt that much different from the previous April Fools update, however, there was one difference:
- In the market, there was aโ Trading Plazaโ. Should a player interact with the Trading Plaza, a pop-up would appear that would say โ"Just Kidding! Not yet...". You can close the pop-up by clicking โBooโฆโ
- This was made to joke about trading, a feature many heavily requested by the Blooket community.
However, strangely, the blooks in Tower Defense and the most used blooks chart in the Stats Page werenโt altered in anyway at all.
April 1st, 2023 update[]
Same as the last 2 years, the Blooks are upside down. This time, though, the blooks that you opened from the market were upside down. The following changes were made from 2022 to 2023:
- The Blooks that you opened from Packs were upside down.
- On the stats page, every blook was upside down.
- Factory blooks were upside down.
- Cafe blooks were upside down.
- When you finished a game, the rotating blook would spin clockwise, then quickly rotate back.
- When you finished a game, the blook showing your chosen/random character would be upside down.
April 1st, 2024 update[]
Unlike the previous years, there were not any updates this year, probably because Ben Stewart forgot, but it couldโve also been due to a big update he was working on. None of the blooks were upside down and there was no fake trading plaza. No new updates happened.
April 1st, 2025 update[]
In 2025, once again there were still not any April fools updates. Like 2024, no blooks were upside down, there was no fake trading plaza, no April Fools Spring Update, nor was there anything new. However, they released a Gamemode called Cocoa Cottage on that day, but there was nothing related to April Fools and likely is released on April 1st as a coincidence.
It is very likely that there will no longer have any more April Fools updates and the reason why is remain unknown, and the chances of next year's April Fools updates are quite low.
